SHFCA 7th Annual Conference ‘Hydrogen Islands’, in the Orkney Islands, Scotland
23rd September 2015 - 24th September 2015
The SHFCA 7th Annual Conference is on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th September 2015, on the theme of ‘Hydrogen Islands’ and takes place in Kirkwall, in the Orkney Islands which are located just off the northerly tip of mainland Scotland. The Orkney Islands have recently achieved 100% renewable energy, with the annual production of renewable electricity on Orkney now being greater than the annual electricity demand.
This prestigious 2015 Scottish Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Conference will showcase the enabling role for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and products in helping to maximise the benefits of renewables, with examples of using hydrogen and fuel cells to make the bridge between renewable power and deployment into heat and transport sectors at a local level.
The 2015 conference programme brings together SHFCA members and invited expert speakers for sessions which will explore how hydrogen and fuel cells can be the smarter choice in joining together Heat, Power, and Transport applications using a holistic local energy system approach. Linking all of these activities together in the smart integrated energy systems of the futures is the underpinning theme of ‘Hydrogen Islands’. The conference will also explore opportunities for effective cooperation and partnership working between countries, both in Europe and internationally.
