Call for Proposals: Hydrogen and Fuel cells in the UK Industrial Strategy

Call for proposals related to Hydrogen and Fuel cells in the context of the UK Industrial Strategy

Application deadline: midnight on Wednesday, 15 January 2020

The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell (H2FC) SUPERGEN Hub can fund up to two proposals (each with a maximum contribution of £100k under usual EPSRC terms and conditions) to support research to address barriers to, and/or promote the application of, hydrogen and/or fuel cells, to the challenge areas highlighted in the UK industrial strategy.

Proposals should be no more than 4 pages in length, and must include the following: a track record for the academics and researchers involved; a statement of why the work is important to one or more of the industrial challenge areas and advancing the hydrogen and/or fuel cell field; a description of the work to be undertaken and the research methodology; a clear indication of the expected impact of the work and how this will be achieved, including a work plan; and a budget and a justification of resources.

Proposals that are within the scope of the call will be subject to peer review of the H2FC Supergen Hub’s Management Board, with the expectation that decisions will be made on funding by end of January 2020. The proposals will be ranked on their potential combined academic and industrial impact.

Proposals should be made by UK academics eligible to receive EPSRC funding, using the template below.

Payment cannot be made for research that continues beyond the current life of the H2FC Hub, so all research must be completed by January 15th 2021.

Proposals should be no more than four pages in length (using this template, H2FC Supergen Flexible Funding ISCF Application form-final FINAL), and must include the following:

  • Project summary and research description
  • Methodology
  • Pathways to impact
  • Track record
  • Project resources

Proposals should be submitted by email to Dr Marina Lomberg (h2fc@imperial.ac.uk and cc to m.lomberg10@ic.ac.uk) by Jan 15th 2020. The final award of the proposals will be the decision of the H2FC Hub Management and Advisory Boards, and we will announce successful proposals by end January 2020.
