UK hydrogen bodies join forces in plan for growth

With hydrogen fuel cells reaching a state of real world readiness, the question is becoming how we can build an industry out of a technology. In an attempt to answer that question, some of the UK’s biggest public and private names in hydrogen research are coming together to produce a strategy for the next fifteen years. By aligning their expertise and plans, the consortium hopes to strengthen symbiotic relationships between the stationary energy, transport and industrial sectors.

The groups who have announced their involvement with this roadmapping exercise are Innovate UK, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), Element Energy Ltd, the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), Transport Scotland, the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA) and the UK Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (UKHFCA).
